Welcome to the digital home of Bethany Navajeevan Province.
We belong to the Order of the Imitation of Christ (OIC), popularly known as Bethany Ashram, the first indigenous religious congregation of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church.
Founded on 15 August 1919, at Mundanmala, Kerala, by Venerable Archbishop Geevarghese Mar Ivanios OIC, Bethany Ashram was born out of a profound vision to blend the rich monastic heritage of the Christian East with the contemplative traditions of Indian Sanyasa.
Inspired by the Bethany in the Gospels, Bethany Ashram symbolizes a tri-fold commitment to the Gospel - Mary, representing the life of contemplative prayer, Martha, representing the life of active apostolic service and Lazarus, representing the hope of the Resurrection.
Erected on 24 May 2000, Bethany Navajeevan Province - headquartered in Nalanchira, Thiruvananthapuram - carries forward the century-old legacy of Bethany Ashram with renewed zeal and commitment. With a presence spanning across India and abroad, our Province serves the people of God through our Ashrams, educational and charitable institutions, mission centres, and social service wings. We invite you to explore our journey, join us in our…
